Following a faulty ignition coil on a Bernard engine, and after several unsuccessful searches for a replacement, I decided to replace the entire engine. After some research and advice from Mr. Rupert Carr, I decided to replace the entire engine. After further research and advice from Mr. Rupert Carr, I decided to replace the entire engine. I chose the Villiers G200V engine with an oil bath centrifugal clutch with a 2-1 reduction gearbox.
I had to move the engine because of the clutch in order to align the pulleys. I created a plate that could be adapted to the original chassis.
Next, I disassembled each part of the rototiller to clean them, grease the bearings and the transmission chain, change the screws and apply rustproofing, then repaint them.
Afterwards I put everything back together, I took the center distance and diameter of the pulleys to calculate the length of the belt.
And here I am with a brand new rototiller and an engine that starts right up.
